Non-Stop flight from Atlanta to Punta Cana
Torie and I got round trip flights from Atlanta to Punta Cana for only $800 from Southwest. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 11:30am. We live about 2 hours away from the airport, but with the so many variables to get to the airport on time we opted to stay the night before at a hotel next to the airport. We chose the Country Inn north location. I signed up for their rewards program and got a military rate which made our stay after taxes and fees less than $100. Keep in mind I booked the room two days prior, so that wasn’t a factor.
We took the hotel shuttle to the international terminal at the Atlanta Airport for Southwest. Check in for our boarding paces was super quick. No line and we didn’t check any bags so it literally took two minutes. Then onto the dreaded security check point. Inconvenient, yes, necessary, yes; did it take forever, no. From the time we walked into the airport to the time we were putting our shoes back on, only 15 minutes had passed.
As it turns out, Southwest was still over in the domestic side of the airport so we hopped on the train and rode back over to Terminal C. With about 2 hours to kill, we drank coffee at Longhorn Steak House. Our original intention was to maybe work a little, but the internet wasn’t good enough to really get anything done.
As always the flight staff are light hearted and funny on Southwest. The plane was clean and full and we were off within 10 minutes of our scheduled departure.
Where is Punta Cana?
