If an opportunity arises it’s time to take action.
That’s what we did. We love involving our kids, but sometimes it is just a little bit easier to do somethings without kids. Kayaking when your kids are really little is one of those things.
The kids were gone for the day so we decided to throw the kayaks in the back of the truck and head to Lake Norman State Park.
Lake Norman State Park is right off of Lake Norman just north of Mooresville, NC. There are camping sites, a community swimming beach and many nice hiking/biking trails.
We were there for one reason, to kayak.
We drove about 20 minutes out of Mooresville and found a place to park on the side of the road and carried the kayaks down to the water.
We kayaked through some very calm water. We want under a bridge and explored all the coves around the state park. We saw birds, fish and turtles while out on the water. Being out in nature is always a joy to us, and leaves us feeling renewed and refreshed.
We spent only a couple of hours on the water, but we got our taste of kayaking again. It was good, relaxing and fun day on Lake Norman at the State Park.
Get out and live.
